  1. I think art could totally be used as therapy. It gives someone something to focus their mind on, and takes the focus away from stress. Art is kid of important in my life, it just depends on what it is. Music is my favorite form of art, and it speaks to me differently that visual art. My doodle says in outgoing, which I dont think is necessarily true, because their are instances where im shy.

  2. I think that art is used in a therapeutic way for multiple reasons. Art can be used as therapy because it helps to take our energy and our mind and direct it toward a simple task, something that doesn't require much thought. It helps our minds to escape and distract our minds from our current problems. It allows our creative juices to flow and to access a different part of the brain that we might not use as much during the larger part of the day. I also think that art can be used as therapy because it relates to our childhood, a simpler time that inspires nostalgia.

  3. If I could be any kind of artist, I would be a sketcher. Not the shoes, but that is what I would do. I love to sketch, and even if I'm not the greatest at it, I still love it.

  4. I think art can be used as therapy to take yourself away from reality, just to focus on the art itself. I think Adult Coloring books are popular now because times are getting more stressful.

  5. The first thing I think of when I think of art related to faith are stained glass windows in churches. When I think of art in relation to movements, I think of the Renaissance. Art plays a very big role in my life because I really like it. I like to draw as a hobby and admire other people's art. I think self-expression is very important. I think adult coloring books are becoming popular because people like to do monotonous things.

  6. I think art can be used as a therapeutic aspect in that it helps relieve stress and allows people to become creative without requiring a lot of effort or time. Art is a release in that it allows us to express our individuality and emotions and reflect on our experiences. Art has impacted my life in many ways, especially that I enjoy drawing and creating crafts, as well as having an appreciation for works from other artists to use as inspiration. I think adult coloring books have become well-known because of their unique designs and how people can easily relieve stress from their day by becoming creative.

  7. Makayla Maxheimer: Art plays a huge and important role in my life because I, myself, am an artist. I use art to tell the stories I have without having to hurt my hands by writing them, which allows me to visualize and bring new meaning to the characters and their world. I use it both as a way to express my feelings and as a way to stretch my abilities, so I'm able to do a lot more through that then what I can by just speaking or writing.

  8. Art is a great thing to do to calm and express yourself. Apparently, I want control of situations, which isn't wrong. I use art to communicate my ideas.

  9. I think art can be used as therapy because if someone is having a bad day or they are stressed they can either draw or color or paint to help them get their mind off something and if they are still stressed they can do more things that involve art and they could also go buy a coloring book and color in that for a little bit until they are not stressed anymore or they could color random things until they are not stressed and they could listen to music while they are coloring and they could do so many other things that involve art that could be therapy.

  10. I think that adult coloring books are popular right now because art is a way to relieve stress, and as an adult, you can go through a lot of stressful events and having a concrete way to relieve that stress is very helpful. I think that adult coloring books would have been popular whenever they could have come out, they are very helpful. Just sitting down and forgetting about anything else can relieve so much pressure. While you're coloring, you can take that time of not stressing to think about certain things and maybe find solutions to problems that you're having.

  11. I believe that art could be used as a therapy for some people because it reduced and helps with people who have stress or anxiety. Art plays a medium sized role in my life because when I feel like i’m stressed I will get out my mandala coloring book or my stress coloring book and color in it til I feel like the stress has gone away. If I could be any artist I would want to be Leonardo Da Vinci because his famous artwork Mona Lisa is beyond talent and interesting you can learn about art through art and his art goes into great details holding great unknown stories to most people. My doodles say that i’m drawn by ambitious people which it’s kinda true since I doodle them more than I do others I also doodle hearts or flowers which mean love and family.
I think that adult coloring books are popular right now and on the rise because most adults claim that it reduces their stress levels or that when they have anxiety it will help them calm down the most when they color and doodle in them.

  12. I've always loved art. While I wouldn't necessarily ever consider studying art as a major or minor in college, I am a very artsy person and enjoy being surrounded by colors and different mediums. Be it drawing, painting, charcoal, etc. I've always loved the arts. I also love finding the hidden meanings of different works or how the painting was made. This is one reason I was so happy to have Michelangelo as my artist profile: Michelangelo is one of my favorite artists. His attention to detail and the way he views the world has always been inspirational to me. From the Pieta to the iridescent hues of Doni Tondo, Michelangelo is a perfect example as to why I love art.

  13. I think that art can be therapy, I have personally always found coloring relaxing and love adult coloring books. I believe that art is definitely something people do to relieve stress, whether it's drawing, painting, coloring, etc. Art does not play much of a role in my life even though I wish I was artistic I was just not given those genes.

  14. As Maya Angelou briefly commented on when we went over her and an excerpt from her, I believe that these menial tasks give us something to occupy our "small minds" so that our bigger, more creative parts of ourselves can emerge and take some time to get itself together again. So, yes, I believe it can be therapeutic in the sense that it helps occupy us and allows us to come up with more creative ideas, or just have nothing occupying our 'big mind' at all.

  15. Personally, I’ve never been that artistic in a traditional sense. I grew up with a dad who could draw and paint fantastically. My mom and I, however, were more into English, math, and science. I also grew up with a lot of friends who painted, drew, and made claymations. They would critique an artsy class project I did and would reply with strained faces and half-hearted lies about the quality. As of late, I’ve realized that I simply am better at other forms of art I’d never thought of. Maybe not great at it, but at least it turns out as something I can willingly put my name on.

  16. Art could be used as therapy because there are many types of art. There's music, there's drawing, there's painting, almost anything can be considered art and it can be therapeutic because those are all ways some people let out their emotions and feelings, is onto a piece of paper.

  17. I feel like art could be used as therapy for many reasons. One reason is it is relaxing to some people. Other people it gets their mind of the problems. Another reason could be you can express who you are through art.

  18. I think art could be used as therapy since it's very relaxing. There's no way to do it wrong as long as you aren't hard on yourself. Spending an hour or two a week just drawing and maybe listening to music would relax most people unless you just don't like coloring. So, in my opinion I think that art therapy could be helpful for a lot of people.

  19. Art could always be used as therapy for many reasons. There is so many different types of art in the world and people are still making their own kinds of art. And every kind of art has some sort of impact on your mind. It makes you feel a certain way. Whether that's angry, happy, sad, or intrigued. Artists never publish a piece of work just for the fun of it, because they always have a reason in mind when they begin the piece. An artist always wants to make their viewers experience something when they look at their work. They want the viewer to feel the same way that they felt when they saw the image in their mind and decided to pick up the brush.

  20. Art can be used as therapy because it is very calming and relaxing. When I am coloring, I always feel at peace and can get lost in time. Coloring can be very rewarding and can be used to help wind down before bed. When I was little, I always wanted to be an artist. Art has always been my passion. In the future I hope to become a Makeup Artist.
