A dangerous man doesn't smile, doesn't scowl, doesn't show anything. Within his curled fingers: a single die.

Cooled magma covered 1st Street, and ice had blocked off Main, all the automobiles which once carried their drivers empty or destroyed. shell (memory)- my mom when I was growing up would collect sea shells and they were all over the house.
The giraffe reminded me of the toys that they sell at the gift shop at the zoo. The shell reminded me of being in Florida with my grandpa collecting them on the beach before he died. The lock reminded me of the one my grandpa keeps on his shed.
ReplyDelete1. Going to the beach this summer with my mom and brother. Walking in the damp sand and laughing loudly as my brother dug a hole to jump into.
ReplyDelete2. As she walked down the dark path a key jumped around in her pocket. She was not yet used to the weight of it, but given time she would grow fond of the weight. For it was her way to a home better than this one.
3. The door swung open as the rusted lock fell to the ground. Eyes stayed on the lock until a woman entered, tall and determined to get her way. And suddenly no one cared about the lock, for it was reckoning day and they had too many sins to count.
One of the things that I was reminded of was the giraffe, because I loved going to the zoo all of the time with my family, and really loved animals as a kid.
ReplyDeleteAnother thing that brought back a memory for me was the seashell, because it reminded me of vacation and how much I love going to the beach.
The last thing that brought a memory back to me was the Paris dish because I have always wanted to travel there, and reminded me of how I am excited to discover and go to new places.

The small boy picked up the key and twirled it in his hand. He discretely placed the key in his pocked, and raced towards home. The Owner searched his pockets and eyed his surroundings for the key. "Ah hell," he said under his breath, "Zeus's gonna kill me."
ReplyDeleteHe lifted up another figurine. "Elephant!" the small girl shrieked. He picked up another, "Lion," she half spoke, half giggled. He picked up the last toy. She furrowed her brow, not quite remembering the name of this one.
"Giraffe," he reminded her.
The small boy wiped a tear from his cheek and held the die to his chest. He frantically eyed all of the people to find a familiar face.
1. Lock - Ness stared down at the fallen chains. Her hands were finally free of that dreaded lock. That cold, faded metal that wrested against her wrists. "Not so fast, Dansari."The lochlannach bellowed. "Your chains don't require metal." She shivered.
ReplyDelete2. Old box - The old box reminded me of the boy in the striped pajamas.
3. Nail - Egan hammered the nail with a reckoning force. Beads of sweat formed on the sides of his temple, his lips pressed together in a harsh line. No matter he did, the stubborn nail would not budge. He muttered a curse under his breath, his body ached with forced labor.

3: Object: Dice. Story summary: Let's play a game. A game of chances. If you win, then I will answer any and all of your questions, if I win, then I get to kill you. So, do you want to play?
Striped box: "Hesitantly, she opened the box with a curious feeling looming. The box had been hidden away in the attic for years, and only now had it been discovered. Inside lay a small key, opening the door to endless discoveries."
ReplyDeletePaper clip: The paper clip reminded me of the days spent at the my grandparents' when I was younger, and the time spent making small necklaces and bracelets out of paper clips.
Ashtray: "She dreamed of the city that was pressed into the small, silver ashtray. As she yearned to see the inviting location, she brushed a finger over the word 'Paris'. Suddenly, she felt a strong breeze pass through, and as she looked up, she realized that she had arrived."

He placed bullets in the old revolver, and placed it on the table between us. "I'll go first." I grabbed the gun, and placed it at my temple. I pulled the trigger with a clicking sound
ReplyDelete2. The sea shell reminds me of a time I went to the beach. I started collecting rocks and shells and stuffed them all in my pockets. My pockets were filled with sand and dirt by over stuffing.
3. the roaring crowd filled the room as the adrenaline gave an euphoric feeling for me. The dice were hard in my hands as I blew on them for good luck. I shook my hands and threw the dice on the green, long table with people crowded by the edges, anxious to see if I would win. The dice stopped on the numbers I needed, and the room boomed with cheering. I had won a million dollars on this lucky day.
Sea Shell: Reminds me of when I use to have a collection of shells from beaches

Key: Reminds me that some doors remained locked but you can always find a way through one another if you believe in yourself.
Nail:
ReplyDeleteThis is the nail that was in the house of the notorious Jewel-Thief, Randy Randler the 2nd. This is the nail that had bent out of the floorboard and stabbed Randy in the foot causing him to yell and give away his hideout to the police.
The Box:
This box has held many things in its life. It held the teeth of George Washington, it held an apple that Abe Lincoln was supposed to eat as a snack at the theaters, and it held the monocle of President Roosevelt. But the most recent thing this box has held, is Donald Trumps spray tan bottle and wig. Now it awaits something new to hold.
The Shell:
This shell belonged to Henry Clawson, a crab who one day decided to go to the Blu Casino. Unfortunately he wasn't very good at it. Then he found himself playing against a mafia leader by the name of Mr. Blubs. He gambled his shell and ended up losing it to the mafia, but when he begged for them to let him keep his shell, they took it and kicked him out of the casino.
Lock: I flexed my fingers, getting a feel for the picks, then went to town on the heavy lock. After a few moments of fiddling, it popped open with a resounding click. I threw the lock to the floor and pushed open the door, eager to claim my prize.
ReplyDeleteKey: The key clattered to the floor, silencing everyone in the room. I stared into his eyes with a challenging glare. Then, like a taught rubber band stretched past its limit, the tension snapped, and we all dove forward for the key.
Ashtray thing: He twirled a lit cigarette between his spindly fingers, the smoke trailing images in the air. He then hovered the end of the cigarette over an ornately engraved metal ash tray, dislodging the ash with three precise staccato taps. "Look at me," he growled harshly. I reluctantly dragged my eyes away from the tray and onto his butt-ugly mug.
Ashtray: Reminds me of a french war soldier during World War II.

I wasn't sure if I was actually supposed to write a piece, so I just wrote down what it reminded me of since I didn't have time. I hope that works!

Shell: The shell that we received first immediately reminded me of a trip I took to Biloxi about 5 years ago, the water was too shallow to swim so I just sat on the beach for hours collecting shells
ReplyDeleteDice: I used to play Yahtzee with my grandparents at the lake house when it was too rainy to swim.
Ashtray: This is typical, but my parents have smoked my whole life, so ashtrays and the smell of cigarettes are calming to me in a way. They give me a sense of nostalgia.
My idea of the objects was an intire story so for the key I said it unlocks the Lock. I said the lock is a lock to the box. And I said the box is a magic box from long ago and it holds the demons of my soul forever locked away. Until a random person opens it.
